I would like to share a fun family event that is also perfect for Homeschoolers. ’til Midnight Live at the Nasher. With the event running until Midnight we haven’t had the opportunity to attend because David has to be at work at 3 in the morning. One day I will have David take Saturday and Sunday off and we will attend. When we do would you like to come with us?

Details:

Join us for the Nasher’s popular FREE live concert and movie series, ’til Midnight, this month including a special celebration for the Nasher Sculpture Center’s 20th year. An art performance by artist Erica Felicella will kick off the event, followed by two bands, a DJ set, a movie, and FREE BIRTHDAY CAKE (while it lasts!). Wolfgang Puck Catering offers bar service, food for purchase, and grab & go snacks the night of the event. Concerts will be moved indoors in the event of inclement weather. Guests can view the permanent collection and special exhibitions. Currently on view is Groundswell: Women of Land Art. Please note: Outside food, beverage, and furniture are not allowed. ’til Midnight takes place rain or shine. Admission is FREE

PERFORMANCE

6:30 p.m. / Erica Felicella

Dallas-based performance artist Erica Felicella will use the Richard Serra’s My Curves are Not Mad (1987) as the backdrop for a performance about hidden and known struggles pitted against women through use of spoken word and physical movement.

7:00 p.m. / Nik Parr
Nik Parr’s music is a high-energy piano-driven rock n’ roll endeavor with strong soul, funk and blues influences. His catchy performance is marked by his seamless switching between the piano and saxophone, accompanied by his bandmates on drums and guitar.

8:00 p.m. / Sir Woman

Sir Woman is an Austin-based funk/soul ensemble. With the release of their full-length self-titled debut, the band has quickly skyrocketed to headliner status at Austin’s most venerable clubs, and garnered Artist Of The Year at the 2023 Austin Music Awards.

9:00 p.m. / DJ Set

10:00 p.m. / Finding Nemo (2003)

An overprotective clown fish named Marlin is desperate to find his missing son, Nemo. During his search, Marlin enlists the help of a forgetful blue tang, and they head for Sydney. It’s rumored that a fishnapped Nemo is living there in a dentist’s aquarium
