I thought I would share a children’s book called Flora and Friends ABC from ChronicleKids.com by Molly Idle (Author) I received in exchange for this review.

Having a copy of Flora and Friends ABC reminded me of the first time I took Suzzie to the Fort Worth Zoo, I purchased a pink Stuffed Flamingo. Having the book was nice but sad as it made me miss her but allowed me to share memories of Suzzie with David and Charlie before I sat down to the read the book.

The cover is so fun looking at with the illustrations of Flora and her Bird friends including a Flamingo. Charlie will be able to use this bookk in his Homeschool Reading Class when we study animals and Birds. Not only that there were Birds Charlie, and I weren’t familiar with like Atlantic Puffins Charlie can look up to see they are a real animal or not.

How about a blue-footed booby Charlie said. D wasn’t hard to figure out as it’s a Duckie which Charlie said we should go and make Duck Cookies and purchase a Rubbie Duckie which would be a Homeschool Field Trip. Would you like to go with us? E was Emu and would you like a Emu Egg or how about going to visit a Emu Farm?

You should see F a Flamingo and practice the pose there doing for exercise today although Charlie is going it for PE while watch. Because if I got into that shape I wouldn’t get back up. K is Kite is that really a Bird or should we go fly a kite in memory of this book? How about a Umbrella Bird? Some of the letters were blank so you can research Birds and fill those spaces out on your own.

Flora and Friends ABC is for younger children, but I can see all Bird lovers falling in love with this book no, matter their age. If you’re a teacher, you should pick up a copy of all the books in this series to add to your classroom as it’s back-to school time. If you know someone in the Zoo that works with Birds pick up a copy of this board book for them.
