Picking a gift for a loved one is great fun, but at the same time can be challenging – especially when buying for someone who has everything. Do you go down the route of buying them a subscription? Or do you opt for something physical like a board game? It could be that you go down the experience route instead, the possibilities are endless.

To start with, setting a budget is very important. Having a budget in mind will help you to not overspend as well as narrow down the options when you find things to buy them. Next is checking that it can be delivered on time and that you are sure they will enjoy it.

Below we look into the different gifts to consider for a loved one.

Physical Gifts

The route to go down first is the physical gift path. Physical gifts are ideal as they are physical and can be enjoyed as soon as you give them. They can range from one of the best board games for adults to a perfume set or a candle. Other gift suggestions might be a bath tray, tea bomb set, makeup, clothing, sports items or a new phone case – the possibilities are endless. Depending on your budget, you could try and buy a couple of physical gifts, or opt to combine this with a subscription that you know they would enjoy.

Subscription

We are currently in the subscription generation! A lot of things that we buy now come as part of a subscription, think Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify and more. For this reason, a subscription for a year of something they like may be perfect. Subscription ideas could be a coffee pod subscription, candle subscription, monthly cinema membership, chocolate subscription or a room spray membership. If you can’t afford to pay for the whole year, you could treat them to six months or maybe three. This way they can try it out and if they enjoy it, continue paying for it after you.

Experience Present

Sometimes an experience is worth so much more than a physical gift (or it can be bought alongside one). There are so many different experiences that you could treat a loved one to, that you can do with them. You could book a wine-tasting session, a kayaking trip, a flower-arranging session, a sky-diving experience and so on. If you know they want to challenge themself and like fitness, you could enter them into a race that they would enjoy, like a half marathon or a triathlon – a hot water bottle would make a great gift alongside this for their recovery.
We hope our guide has given you some inspiration on gift ideas for a loved one. Why not host a special evening and give them your gift? What gift do you think we should add to our list?
