I would like to share a new Romance with Suspense with you Expired Hope: A gripping fire and rescue romantic suspense by Lisa Phillips (Author), Megan Besing (Author). I received a copy of the book in exchange for this review.
Expired Hope is a suspenseful romance that is a clean book with a hint of Christianity. If you are into danger and suspense then you will enjoy Expired Hope because its full of danger and suspense. The plot deals with a fire station team dealing with the loss of one of their own. Then there i a new Fire Chief who is brought in on a trial basis.
Along with a therapist who was brought in to evaluate the teams and help them cope with the loss while maintaining the ability to respond to calls. The therapist Veteran Natalie Atkinson is someone they rescued from a fire. Mason James the new Fire Chief has his hands full already and then you through in a romantic interest between the Chief and Natalie which prompts a tension of how ethical it would be for a therapist to fall for her patient. The banter between the Therapist and the Fire Chief keeps the book lighthearted.
You will find Expire Hope is part of a series, but this book can be read as a standalone. I would suggest that before you read this book you go back and read the first book Expired Return: A thrilling fire and rescue romantic suspense (Last Chance Fire and Rescue Book 1). I definitely can’t wait to read the entire series and to share the books with my friend and family. I hope you will do the same.
About:
“Peter, you are not at war. Look for Joey in your backseat. Do you see him?” Natalie Atkinson gripped the steering wheel of her Volkswagen Beetle and put on her hazards. If only counselors had emergency lights.
“Stand down.” She spoke loud and clear over the phone connection. “There’s no enemy.”
Not one they could see.
Fire. Family. Faith.
A fire chief, a woman in danger, a forbidden love…can it survive the flames of revenge?
She’s running to a fresh start…
Veteran and therapist Natalie Atkinson just wants to help heroes survive their past. But when she’s rescued from a fire…and falls for the one person she’s supposed to help…she could destroy both their futures.
It’s his last chance to get it right…
Fire Chief Macon James is the right man for the job–he just has to prove it to the counselor who is signing off on his team. What he doesn’t expect is to fall for her.
But danger is stalking her and someone is going to get hurt.
So, he’ll have to protect her, without crossing any lines. And she’ll have to make sure that she doesn’t get him killed.

Despite always adoring happily-ever-afters, Megan Besing didn’t unlock a love for reading until her mid-twenties, which quickly expanded into writing.
