You Rule!

Children's Book Reviews

Good morning, how are you? I wanted to share a new children’s book with you. You Rule! You Rule! is written by Rilla Alexander. I received a copy of this book in exchange for this review.

Before I share my thoughts with you about the book I wanted to do something different this morning. Check out the Authors info below. Isn’t she pretty. I love her yellow dress she is in and would like to get one for my sister for her Birthday. Look at all the amazing things she has done including being a illustrator and picture book maker whose work has appeared on everything from toys and teacups to busses and buildings. Can you imagine that because I believe it would be as lot of fun. Don’t you think so?

Then take a look at the cover of the book and the Dog he is blue. Would you want a blue Dog? I will keep the Dogs I have, and Charlie said he would as well. Although Charlie did say he might look for a Green Caterpillar as a new pet if you wouldn’t mind helping him find one in our neighborhood. But I will sit this hunt out.

I loved they plot and how the Author has written this story as not a story per-say but a lot of words that make sense when you read them. There were sayings I hadn’t heard since I was a child like ” knee-high to a Grasshopper”. Or the word diminutive children might not know that will lead to a teaching moment for parents.

As well as giving Charlie and I words to use in our Homeschool Spelling Class. I love that on each page of the book is a question for children to ask. Which families can turn into discussions and to keep the talking going kids can even illustrated there answers. Which Charlie and I can’t wait to do. Would you like to join us as were going to do this in our Art Class.

My family enjoyed this book which we believe would be perfect for younger children in elementary school although children of all ages can learn from this book. As well as adults who take the time to read the book with there families and go over the questions the Author ask in the book. As well as discussing the Artwork.
