Here I am trying to catch up in the Ultimate Blog Challenge (UBC) Day 2 April 2nd, 2023. I am 4 days behind. Yes, you heard me right. 4 days. You know what that is fine. The LORD knows our needs and in the blink of an eye I can and will be caught up if its the Lords will and if not its okay because I did the best I could.
The prompt for the 2nd was to Pick a friend, family member, colleague, business, or whatever/whomever and write a blog post about the quality you most admire in them. Or write about the qualities you most admire in others or aspire to in your own life.
I would choose my husband David because of his work ethic. No, matter how bad he is feeling David goes to work. He puts mine and Charlies needs in front of his own all the time. No, matter how tired is if someone needs something David will help them if he can. I love how this can even be a stranger on the streets.
David loves his family more than anything especially all of his kids who don’t even acknowledge him at times. No, matter how nice his mom and dad can be they’ve made David feel stupid in the past and didn’t make sure he got the education he needed. David can’t read or write but that doesn’t stop him from doing things other people struggle. with.
There is days David can barely walk but he comes in and plays Basketball with Charlie or goes walking with me. David has overcome so much in his life including drugs and alcohol. I’ am’m not only blessed but proud to call him my husband and David’s dad. The LORD knew what he was doing when he brought David into my life when I was 15.
I don’t know were I would have been when Suzzane got killed if David hadn’t stepped in to help me after my ex-husband walked off and left me. If you have a good man or women make sure you hold on tight and never let them, go. Remind them each and every day how much you appreciate them because tomorrow isn’t promised and one day they may not be here.
Thank you,
Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
I am participating in the challenge, but not worrying about whether or not I miss a day or three! 🙂 I’m glad you have the love and support of your husband. Family and friends are everything.
