Good morning, how are you? This week is Spring Break for a lot of children yet, Charlie is still attending school just for a half-day to catch up on somethings he needs to do. One of them is his Music Class. This week I wanted to share our Homeschool Resources: Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. Did you know they are one of David’s favorite musical groups.
Crosby, Stills & Nash (CSN) was a folk rock supergroup made up of American singer-songwriters David Crosby, Stephen Stills and English singer-songwriter Graham Nash. When joined by Canadian singer-songwriter Neil Young as a fourth member, they were called Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (CSNY). They are noted for their intricate vocal harmonies and lasting influence on American music and culture, as well as their political activism and often tumultuous interpersonal relationships.
CSN formed in 1968 shortly after Crosby, Stills and Nash performed together informally in July of that year, discovering they harmonized well. Crosby had been asked to leave the Byrds in late 1967, Stills’ band Buffalo Springfield had broken up in early 1968, and Nash left his band the Hollies in December. The trio signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records in early 1969. Their first album, Crosby, Stills & Nash (1969) produced two Top 40 hits, “Suite: Judy Blue Eyes” (No. 21) and “Marrakesh Express” (No. 28). In preparation for touring, the trio added Stills’ former Buffalo Springfield bandmate Neil Young as a full member, along with touring members Dallas Taylor (drums) and Greg Reeves (bass). The band, performing as Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, played the Woodstock festival that August.

Monday:
Write your Spelling words 5 time each in ABC order in your Spelling Journal.
Tuesday:
Use your Spelling words in a sentence or create a story using your spelling words. write them down in your Spelling Journal.
If you write a story include illustrations which will be turned into a book.
Wednesday:
Write the definitions to your spelling words inside your Spelling Journal.
Thursday:
Take a Spelling Test in your Spelling Journal.
If you make a 100 take Friday off.
Friday:
Will either be a free day or a Spelling Text Make Over
Reading Class:
Charlie will be reading his Rolling Stone Magazine about Crosby, Stills & Nash as well as Crosby, Stills & Nash: The Authorized Biography (The Definitive Inside Story of the Supergroup
Once your finished reading a book about Crosby Stills, & Nash in your Reading Journal write down 3 facts your learned about the group.
Math Class:
Look up how many Albums they produced.
How many awards did they win.
How long have they been playing music?
Use these answers to create 5 math problems for someone in your family to work out.
Then let them create 5 math problems for you to work out.
Write the math problems inside your Math Journal.
Drama Class/ Music Class:
Look up the Songs they played and pick out a song to learn and play for your parents.
Look up the types of clothes they wore when just starting out and visit a Thrift Store and pick out a outfit to wear when performing your song.
Art Class:
Create a college of things you learned about Crosby, Stills & Nash using different Art supplies.
Explain your college in your Art Journal.
Cooking Class:
Look up what they liked to eat and prepare these foods for your family to serve during your Music Show.
If you can’t find out what they liked to eat find out where their Hometown was and what Foods, there Cities are famous for and make these foods for your family.
