I would like to introduce you to another children’s book from Chronicle Books. The new book is part of our Easter Gift Guide 2023: Dog & Hat and the Lunar Eclipse Picnic: Book No. 2 by Darin Shuler in exchange for this review.
I’ve been racking my head at what to get my nephew Jason who is 9 for Easter. Then this morning I was looking through my shelves of books when Charlie handed me Dog & Hat and the Lunar Eclipse Picnic: Book No. 2 and asked if he could read it for his Homeschool Reading Class. I let Charlie know that would be fine.
Off he went to his room and before long I heard Charlie laughing out loud. I walked upstairs and he was laying on his bed with Bear reading the book to her. Charlie said mom this is a like a Comic Book or the graphic novels I read. A nice change from Anime. I let Charlie know it was the second book in the series.
Charlie said that is fine because they can be read as a standalone. I asked Charlie about giving this novel to Jason and Charlie said no, he wanted to keep it. Telling me he liked it which means Jason would as well. I sat down to read the book and I knew I had to share it with David who needed to get a copy for his grandson Elija when I pick up a copy for Jason.
If I can I also plan on picking up the first novel for Charlie for his Easter Basket and I hope you do the same. I believe all schools should keep a copy of both books in their library because they can be used as a teaching moment in Science classes as kids study the Lunar Eclipse which has led to new Homeschool Studies for Charlie.
I love how the book says Ants live on the Moon which I don’t believe and here as well. As for the food there preparing, I will pass on it and before you ask what it is you will have to read the book. As they get ready for the Picnic on the Moon and again before you ask if they hold the Picnic you have to read the book to see.
