Good morning, I love how Chronicle Books has such a verity of books for adult and children. Especially books that we can use when Homeschooling our children. I would like to share Search for a Giant Squid Pick Your Path written by Amy Seto Forrester. I received a copy of this book exchange for this review.
Charlie has always been fascinated with the Sky and the Sea but not school so much. This past year getting Charlie to sit down and do schoolwork has been harder than pulling teeth. No, matter what books I purchase Charlie doesn’t want to read them. Even when its books or magazines he has asked me for.
I’m PRAYING to change that this week as I prepare his Easter Basket and inside, Charlie will find a copy of Search for a Giant Squid Pick Your Path book. Even though this book is for younger children there is so many paths to take that no, matter who Charlie chooses to read this book with he will always find something new he didn’t know. Keeping not only Charlie entertained and learning for hours but his friends and family as well. Which is a Godsend.
Charlie will even be able to use Search for a Giant Squid in our Language Arts Class as we use the words for our Spelling Test. I love how the book ask you to join the team because Charlie can gather a group of friends to read the book with and this can be his team. Before you ask yes, Bear can be one of Charlie’s team members because he is his emotional support animal.
I love throughout the book there is facts which we can re-print and hang in our schoolroom and we can create our own Squid in our art Class. Would you like to help us draw him/her. For a extra lesson Charlie and I will be studying submersible’s and creating one to use in our class. I hope David is home to help us with this Art project.
I wish the Swimming Pool was open so Charlie and I could practice our dives for our Homeschool PE Class. Looks like it might be time to take a Field Trip to the community center would you like to go with us and on the way home we can stop off at the Aquarium to see if they have Squids on display. Or we could stop at the Zoo. It’s your choice.
Before you set out on your adventure don’t forget to make your Science plan and include rock samples because I am sure you will find some you want to collect. Also don’t forget to make a list and pack everything you will need for your trip making reading this book even more fun as you can actually prepare for the trip.
Just like driving a car don’t forget to prepare your vehicle for your trip which could be a Field Trip to a Auto Parts store for Oil. Would you like to come with us? Once you get back home pick your crew and I know Charlie is going to be the Pilot in our adventure. Then you will need to decide where your dive site is and this will allow you to research and study new Countries in your Geographical Class.
