What are your plans for April?

What are your plans for April? For me, it is so hard to believe it is April. At the beginning of the year I had so many ideas and Goals, but I should have known not to make any plans as they usually end up changing. I am sitting down, and I am writing my new Goals out in the paper, and I am not making long-term Goals.

I am doing it one month at a time and then breaking it down into weeks and days as I think it will be easier to accomplish them. And this way I can get Charlie and David involved and hopefully get them to do the things we need to do.

David and I are getting older and are not in as good of shape as we need to be. And even if David doesn’t change his ways, I am changing mine. And I am going to do it the healthy and safest way for me.

I would like to share my Goals with you and ask you to hold me accountable and if you want to join me in my plans. I would be “HONORED” to have you. As weight loss is a lot easier when you have someone to do these goals alongside.

  1. Walk, Ride my Bike, or Use the Treadmill Daily to get in 10,000 steps.
  2. Drink half my weight in water. And I weigh 220 pounds, so that is 110 ounces of water. And that breaks down to 7 bottles of water a day.
  3.  And to rest and relax I will read at least 30 minutes a night.
  4. I will set business hours and shut my phone done at night after 7 pm to focus on our family and friends.
  5. 5 Set up one night a week with no tv, and either spend time reading books as a family, watching movies, or playing board games.

Now I know this sounds like a lot but it isn’t, and I know I can do and that I will feel and look better in 30 days. I have heard it takes 21 days to break a bad habit, so I set mine up for 30 days, and I think it will work for my family.

And there may be days when I stumble, but you know that is OK as I am a “HUMAN” and making mistakes is part of life. And When I make these mistakes, I just need to know that I need to start fresh the next day and not give up.

And I have a bonus challenge for myself, and I do not expect Charlie to do it. As he is a child and I know this would be extremely hard for him. And David doesn’t eat many desserts, so I do not expect him to join me in this last challenge.  I hope to and can not wait to get started on it. As I know, it will help me with my weight loss goal.

My bonus goal is that I will not give up “SODA or TEA” all the way but I will just drink one glass a day, and it will be in between meals. As I know, it is best to drink water with our meals. I will not always have a glass of tea sitting next to me.  I will do my best to drink my tea unsweetened which I am sure I will not ever do although I will try.

Then the last challenge I want to set for myself is that I will try and cut out Sweets for 30 days and I am not sure I can do this. But I will try. And I may stumble and fail but I “PROMISE” you I will do the best I can.And if I do fail, I will let you know!!

I would like to ask you to please “Pray” for my family and me as we try and live up to these challenges. Even if David and Charlie do not do these things with me, I am going to. And I know I will do my best to live up to these challenges.

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
