I would like to ask you to take a look at the holidays being celebrated today and let me know which holiday you most want to celebrate. For me it’s National Waterpark Day. Although, this Summer I haven’t been able to visit a Waterpark. Have you?
In 1862, the U.S. Congress passed the “Union Army and Military Act of 1862” which allowed black Americans for the first time to fight during the Civil War. They fought for the Union Army. And, they did so admirably.
In 1866, the U.S. Congress passed the Army Organization Act and this law allowed black Americans to enlist in the Military and fight for our Country. The Army formed a Military unit comprised of Black Americans which included black Solders who fought for the Union Army in the Civil War, ex-Slaves, and freemen. They served with pride and distinguished themselves for their bravery and fearlessness. These ferocious Warriors served in the 9th and 10th Cavalry, as well as in other units. They fought in the Indian Wars and distinguished themselves. Native Americans feared them and nicknamed them Buffalo Soldiers. It is believed that either the Cheyenne or Comanche’s gave them this nickname for their fierce and fearless performance in Wars. While their performance on the battlefield was remarkable, these men suffered from racism.
The Buffalo Soldiers went on to fight side by side with Teddy Roosevelt and his Roughriders in Cuba during the Spanish-American war.
They had two notable mottoes. They are: “We Can, We Will”, and “Ready and Forward” and they lived up to these mottoes.
How to Celebrate Buffalo Soldiers Day
The First celebration occurred in 1992. General Colin Powell dedicated a monument in honor of these troops.

History and Origin of Buffalo Soldiers Day
In 1992, Congress passed a law proclaiming July 28th as Buffalo Soldiers Day. In the Congressional proclamation, this holiday was not created as a “National” holiday. but a couple websites incorrectly refer to this holiday as “National Buffalo Soldiers Day”.
Neither the U.S. Congress, nor any President of the United States has proclaimed this holiday to be a true “National” day.
National Milk Chocolate Day is a holiday for a special treat. Are you a “Chocola-holic”? If you are, then you look forward to each and every Chocolate related holiday..
There are lots of flavors of Chocolate and Milk Chocolate is enjoyed in Candies or baking. Milk Chocolate is the favorite of millions of people. Its only fitting that Milk Chocolate gets its very own National Holiday.
Don’t be Dyslexic about this holiday. Today is a day for Milk Chocolate, not Chocolate Milk Day. But, why not wash down a Milk Chocolate Candy, with a glass of Chocolate Milk!?
Lest there be any doubt about celebrating this holiday you should savor generous amounts of your favorite Milk Chocolate treats.
It’s the middle of Summer, or what people refer to as the dog days of Summer. The Sun is beating down, making it stifling hot. , National Waterpark Day has arrived just in time to cool you off, and provide a fun-filled day of cool enjoyment.
Waterparks are big business. Right now, Americans all over the country are flocking to Waterparks to cool off. There’s indoor waterparks or outdoor waterparks which are all guaranteed to be busy right now. But, the outdoor waterparks will be the busiest of all at this time of year. Outdoors is where we want to be, while at the same time getting a respite from the oppressive heat. Whether you select a smaller town waterpark, or a nationally known commercial waterpark, fun awaits you. Waterparks are much more fun than a dip in the pool. Waterparks have something for every age group. Enjoy a leisurely raft ride down a lazy river. Speed down the twisting turns of a water slide. Body surf in a wave pool. Or, chill in the splash pools.
The History and Origin of National Waterpark Day:
This Summer holiday was created in July, 2017 by Kalahari Resorts and Conventions, a waterpark company. The holiday was obviously created to promote the attendance and enjoyment of waterparks. Especially there waterparks in particular. Setting the date of this special day, right in the middle of the hottest period of Summer, is perfect placement.
