The Mommies Reviews

Good morning, welcome to our series sharing Food Holidays: February 20th, 2022. Not only is today Cherry Pie Day which David can’t wait to celebrate but Love Your Pet Day which Charlie and I are most excited to celebrate with our Dogs. If you have a Pet, would you want to bring your pet over for a Play Date?

Cherry Pie Day-always on February 20th.

It’s Cherry Pie Day, which is America’s second most popular pie. Behind Apple Pie in popularity. However, in the month of February, Cherry Pie is Number 1.

As a young boy, future president George Washington made the Cherry Tree popular, with his famous quote “I cannot tell a lie, I chopped down the Cherry tree.” We celebrate George Washington’s Birthday and President’s Day in February. Its traditional to bake Cherry Pies for the day.

Being the “hot pie” of the month, it is only fitting that Cherry Pie Day falls in February. On Cherry Pie Day, celebrate with a piece of Pie, a Cherry Pie. If you really want to enjoy this Holiday to the fullest, bake a Cherry Pie from scratch.

Hoodie Hoo Day– always held on February 20th.

On this Winter Day, people go out at noon, wave their hands over their heads and chant “Hoodie-Hoo”.

It is a day to chase away Winter blahs and bring in Spring. After all, everyone in the Northern Hemisphere is sick and tired of Winter at this point and a little crazy being cooped up inside all Winter and not seeing the Sun.

Love Your Pet Day– always celebrated on February 20th.

Love Your Pet Day is day to pamper our pets. People love their pets, and today is an easy excuse to spend time with our pets. Don’t forget to give your pets special treats. Whether it’s a dog, a cat, a fish, a pet snake, or your pet rock. Give your pets lots of love and attention today.

Interestingly, Ecard companies have a wide choice of cards for today. Including cards to send to pet owners to make them smile and feel good. We did not find a single Ecard to be sent to the pet. ……..hmmm.

If you don’t have a pet, maybe today is the day to adopt a pet. Take a trip to your local Humane Society and adopt an animal that needs you. It will make you both feel good.
