8 Important Considerations to Make When Getting Robes for Your Bridesmaids
Ask any woman and they will tell you the best day of their entire lives is their wedding day. Why? Because you get to be united to your loved one for the rest of your life! With all the preparations that come with a wedding day, it is important to understand the need to take care of yourself as the bride.
On the morning of the wedding day, getting ready is now done in style, unlike past times. The morning of your wedding day is one that you go all out in the bridesmaid robes that are special to each one of you. For the bride, it’s the best chance you have to gift your maids and for the maids, it’s one of the best moments to share with your friend before she becomes Mrs.
What to consider when choosing the best robes
- Styles – These robes come in many different styles. It is important to consider the style of your ladies before you make a payment. You don’t necessarily have to ask them what style they want because it’s your gift to them. The different styles are:
- Kimono style that has wide full sleeves with a drop shoulder
- Spa robes come in one size that can fit everyone and this is great, especially if you don’t know their sizes.
- Wrap robes have a set-in sleeve and are more tailored than the other types of robes.
- Fabric – Chose a quality fabric that is not lightweight or thin. Look out for a medium weight fabric as well as fiber content of nylon, cotton, spandex or silk.
- Features – Look out for the well-sewn robes that have a good quality fabric. They should have well-finished seams, inside ties, belt loop, and the belt as well. Beware of acetate and rayon as they both wrinkle badly and always require dry cleaning.
- Length – Ask about the length of the finished robe in inches and exactly how it is measured; from the shoulder, from the neck or from the collar band? Remember that you will also cinch the robe with a stash, which will make it slightly shorter. Look for the right length that will make your bridesmaids relax and not be worried about the length the whole time.
- Cost – Look for the best prices around town before you settle on one. Most sellers usually give a 15% discount on bulk orders if you ask or even free shipping, so ask before you buy and ship your robes.
- Color – When choosing your robe colors, consider your wedding theme, the bridesmaids’ skin tones, and the photography. Some may choose two coordinating colors that may complement their wedding colors but the best option is to choose one color for all the maids and one coordinating color for the bride.
- Accessories – Would you consider a pair of satin slippers to accompany your robes or some nice earrings? Think about it and include the accessories you would like your bridesmaids to have.
Ordering – Order all your robes and accessories in good time. Don’t wait until the last minute to shop; shop in good time to avoid delays of any kind.
