Pre-Party Measures

01. Be Organized
Writing everything down is the easiest way to get organized. You will appreciate your fun event more and be much more organized if you take the time to arrange it!!!! This is a step that many of us overlook. But, in my opinion, it is the single most effective approach to ensure (at least on your side) a successful and stress-free party.

You’ll remember things like making additional ice, and put the potatoes in the oven.

02. Be Easy
This vital tip came from the school of hard knocks!!!! I used to work so hard preparing to entertain that by the time my guests arrived, I was exhausted and wanted to say, “Thank you for coming!” Now I’m going to bed. Enjoy your evening, and remember to lock up when you’re through!”

Now, I prepare the majority of my meals ahead of time… and only do activities that are fun yet require no work!

03. Gather Fun People
Surrounding oneself with intriguing and fun people are the best way to have a good time. It’s crucial to get the right blend. The number is the same way. For a gathering, I prefer a smaller group. It’s a lot cozier, and everyone feels like they’re part of the celebration! In large crowds, I find it difficult to hostess and make the rounds.

04. Make an Easy Peasy Menu
Have you observed that people aren’t eating as much as they once did? When I used to entertain, I used to prepare five-course meals. Except for very exceptional occasions and holidays, those days are long gone. Now I’m working on a menu that’s well-balanced, flavorful, and simple to prepare! Also, prepare as much as possible ahead of time. That is, without a doubt, the most important factor!
Now let’s set the mood and move on to the real part, delicious meals and drinks that are the life of summer party styles.

07. Barbecue

There’s a reason why the BBQ is a summer staple. Let’s face it, no one can say no to a freshly grilled burger, hot dog, or even some vegetables. Make everything on your barbeque adjustable to take it to the next level. Make a DIY barbeque buffet by having everyone bring their favorite toppings. Various cheeses, sauces, condiments, vegetables, and other ingredients will result in some fascinating — and delicious — combinations.

06. Outdoor Dinner Bash

Make a table in the backyard, prepare a menu, and invite your closest friends. Decorate with found materials from nature (a.k.a. flowers from your mother’s garden and fallen branches from your favorite tree to create a distinctive table’s cape. As the sun sets, keep the table lit with tea lights to provide illumination while maintaining an intimate, homey atmosphere against the black summer sky. Get the best accessories to style your outfit when hosting a dinner party, as it is important to outshine everyone else.

05. Park Picnic

If you can’t make it to the beach, the park is a close second. (Or even better.) Hello? There isn’t any sand.) Instead of just stashing some Goldfish in your bag, why not take a picnic and make a genuine meal of it? Picnic food is fantastic since it may be quick and easy to prepare and requires no preparation. Check out Epicurious’ suggestions for the greatest sweets to put in your Easter basket.

04. Summer Camp Party
Summer is, without a doubt, the season of s’mores. That’s why you should absolutely bring your pals around for a fire, some spooky stories, and tonnes of marshmallows to relive your camp days. And if you’re searching for some non-traditional s’mores to take your night to the next level, go no further than this non-traditional s’mores.

03. Taco Treat

Although Chipotle now carries chorizo, there’s nothing like creating your quesadillas or tacos at home. And, because it’s summer, you can replace those post-sports-practice burrito bowl excursions with having a do-it-yourself taco night with your friends. Everyone will be satisfied with fancy salsas, a selection of cheeses, and all of the guacamole, as well as the rest of your favorite toppings.

02. It’s Field Day!

Make the most of the weather by inviting your pals to a field day. Play activities like capture the flag, tug of war, and touch football in groups (a good opportunity for theme dressing, too). Infused lemonades, like these from Lauren Conrad, will keep everyone refreshed and hydrated. Consider them a sexier, lower-sugar version of Gatorade.

01. Swimming Pool Party

Splash into summer with perfect ideas for a pool party or picnic at the beach – From amusing ice cream desserts and adorned cookies to quick grilled pizza, fruit salads, and cool drinks.
Sure, not everyone has easy access to a pool (though if you have, this is an obvious choice.) If you can’t get to a full-sized pool, an inflatable kiddie pool and some floating flamingo coasters would suffice.

Our schedules are hectic. Spending time with friends necessitates planning. DO IT NOW! You’ll have no recollection of how you spent the weekend cleaning and doing chores. Yes, we must look after our homes but not all of the time. Make sure you spend time with your family and friends as well. That is something you will remember!!

I’m so glad I scheduled a relaxing picnic this year as well. Those are the memories I’ll cherish!

Thank you,

Glenda, Charlie and David Cates
