Dallas TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND, in association with the nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center, announces its 2020/2021 All-American season, featuring seven dance companies from across the United States.  

For the first time in nearly 40 years, TITAS is focusing its entire season on artists living and working in the United States. During this time of rebuilding for DFW and for our country and global community, TITAS is celebrating the resilience of the artistic community and supporting our unique and remarkable artists with an “All-American” Season.

As we embark on a new chapter, with a renewed focus on our collective communities, the sentiments of “exceptional” and “All-American” guide us. TITAS/DANCE UNBOUND is celebrating and supporting our country’s artistic community’s broad range of styles, traditions and cultures.

“We are always proud to present the coolest, most unique and remarkable dance artists from around the world,” said Executive and Artistic Director of TITAS, Charles Santos.

“This year brings a special opportunity to support dancers/artists here in the U.S. as we, once again, begin to shift our focus again to “live” performances.”

Bravura, Cultura Latina y Pasión Latina – Ballet Hispánico has stepped into the limelight of internationally touring dance companies. Stunning dancers, Latino choreographers with luscious choreography, the company fuses Latin dance with classical and contemporary techniques creating a new style of concert dance where theatricality and passion are at the core.

The choreographers represent rich Latino cultures and nationalities including Venezuela, Cuba, Trinidad, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and Colombia. We are thrilled to have Ballet Hispánico back in Dallas on their 50th anniversary tour.

Doug Varone creates modern choreography that’s as accessible as it is sophisticated. These amazing dancers bring a special “human-ness” to Varone’s choreography. From the smallest gesture to the most powerful movement, Doug Varone and Dancers revels in the subtle beauty and raw energy in everyday moments. It draws you in, surprises you, and takes your breath away. 

This season, Doug Varone takes the famed Bernstein West Side Story music and creates SOMEWHERE, something truly magical. An amazing work, to very familiar music, it’s a surprisingly fresh approach to music that we all know and carry in our hearts.

The magic happens when the audience lets go of preconceived images and storylines, and experiences the gorgeous music and pure movement. Varone is a master, and we are thrilled to have them back in Dallas. ONE NIGHT ONLY.
