Day # 15 Song of the Day Challenge: A Song That Was A Cover From Another Artist

The Mommies Reviews

Day # 15 Song of the Day Challenge: A Song That Was A Cover From Another Artist. When I saw the prompt for Day # 15 Song of the Day Challenge: A Song That Was A Cover From Another Artist. I knew I wanted to share I Will Always Love You which was written by Dolly Parton.

Later on Whitney Houston sang I Will Always Love You for the movie Bodyguard. The greatest Romantic Musical ever if you ask me. I love the relationship between Whitney and Keven Costner.

I would like for you to listen to both versions of I Will Always Love You and let me know which version you prefer For me I like Whitney version better but David likes Dolly’s.

About:

I Will Always Love You” is a song written and originally recorded in 1973 by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton.[1] Her country version of the track was released in 1974 as a single and was written as a farewell to her former partner and mentor of seven years, Porter Wagoner, following Parton’s decision to leave The Porter Wagoner Show and pursue a solo career.[1][2]

Lyrics:

If I should stay, I would only be in your way
So I’ll go, but I know
I’ll think of you every step of the wayAnd I will always love you
I will always love you
You, my darling you, hmBittersweet memories
That is all I’m taking with me
So, goodbye
Please, don’t cry
We both know I’m not what you, you needAnd I will always love you
I will always love you, youI hope life treats you kind
And I hope you have all you’ve dreamed of
And I wish to you joy and happiness
But above all this, I wish you loveAnd I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I will always love you
I, I will always love youYou, darling, I love you
Ooh, I’ll always, I’ll always love you
