I thought I would share 5 Things To Do This Weekend in Dallas/ Fort Worth. Before you ask if my family is going to attend any of these events then no, David works.

Pretty Princess Parties Fort Worth Fairytale Ball

Dance with Cinderella, read with Rapunzel, and meet all of the princesses at The Fairytale Ball who are excited to sing, dance, and play with your little ones. This event focuses on making sure your little one feels royal.

This event includes free parking, professional princess portraits for every child, crafts, stories, songs and games.

Fairytale tickets: A ticket to the Fairytale Ball includes a royal entrance, group games, ocean yoga, princess crafts, stories, and sing-alongs, princess performances, and professional portraits.

VIP Tickets: This extra hour also includes face painting, pixie wishes, a princess parade, and tons of princess time.

Virtual W.A.T.E.R. Festival

Description

Join River Legacy for this Virtual W.A.T.E.R. (Water Awareness Through Education & Recreation) Festival to celebrate the wonderful resource of water with a variety of virtual experiences, crafts, and demonstrations. Watch this festival on River Legacy’s Facebook, YouTube, and Vimeo sites on September 12 at 10 am.

Enjoy content for all ages from River Legacy Foundation and other organizations like Texas Parks and Wildlife, The City of Arlington and The City of Arlington Water Utilities, U.S. Fish & Wildlife, Upper Trinity Groundwater Conservation District, Arlington Public Library, Trinity River Authority, and more! The festival will be viewable until September 30.

Families can also pick up free festival kits with more awesome activities and items like craft supplies, coloring books, and water exploration equipment. Kits can be picked up Thursday, Friday, or Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, beginning August 20 and ending September 12. Kits can be picked up at the Nature Center, located at 703 N.W. Green Oaks Blvd., Arlington, Texas 76006. Available while supplies last.

This Virtual W.A.T.E.R. Festival will also feature the opportunity to win great prizes in a virtual drawing. To enter, take a photo of yourself on, in, or near some form of water. Get creative. After taking your best shot, enter the drawing by sharing it with us on Facebook by tagging @riverlegacyparks and use the hashtag #WaterFestival2020.

Second Sunday Funday To-Go: Paint It!

Description

Come pick up an at-home craft project kit, while supplies last, offered for curbside parking lot and take it home to create as a family. An instructional how-to video will be posted online.

Music and a Movie! Infinite Journey & The Wedding Singer

Description

Grab a bite to eat, listen to some music, and relax in front of the big screen all in the meadows at Farmers Branch Historical Park. Music and a Movie features the best bands in the DFW area, a movie and a popular concessionaire.

Event schedule: Friday, September 11
7 pm: Gates open
7:15 pm: Infinite Journey tribute band live music on stage
9 pm: The Wedding Singer, the 1998 comedy starring Adam Sandler, shown on the big screen after the sun sets.

Nuevo Leon will be on-site with food and concessions available for purchase.

The event location is Farmers Branch Historical Park, 2540 Farmers Branch Lane, 75234, Please park at The Counter Source, 12400 Ford Road.

“Social circles” drawn out in the meadow to provide safe seating options. Temperature checks will be required at the entrance before access into the park is allowed. Masks will be required while attending the event for ages 10 and up and are to be worn at all times. Masks will be provided at the entrance. Portable restrooms will be placed 6 feet apart.

Coolers are welcome, but no outside alcohol is allowed onto the premise. Beer and wine are available for purchase. Beach style umbrellas will be allowed but please take them down as the sun lowers.
