5 Minutes With Charlie Book Reviews

This morning we are launching a new series with Charlie and it is called 5 Minutes With Charlie and the 5 minutes can be anything Charlie want’s to share. So this morning we will kick off the new series with a book report. As Charlie is reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules. Now, before we begin the review this was a free book I picked up at the library for free. As Charlie’as grandmother had been getting the Wimpy Kid books for Charlie.

Now, that the Diary of a Wimpy series are movies means I am thinking about picking up both the books and movies for Charlie for either his Birthday or Christmas as Charlie would be able to do a comparison between the books and the movies and tell us what is the same and what is different. As well as tell us if he prefers the book or the movie. Once Charlie is done David and I could do the same thing. Which means even David would have to read these books. Which I like a lot as it would help David learn to read.

Without further ado here is Charlie’s thoughts on Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules:

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is funny and Charlie enjoys knowing it comes in chapters as I can read as much or as little as I want and pick up where I left off at and not be lost like in a lot of books I have read in the past. The illustrations are fun to look at and they aren’t distracting. I liked knowing Greg has a secret and tries to keep it hidden. Because having a secret can happen to anyone and could mess up someones life. Seeing Greg having a big brother reminded Charlie why it is nice to be a only child. I enjoyed this book a lot and it is one of his favorite books and Charlie can’t wait to share it with his friends.Charlie says he will be reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules to my Nephew Jason as I know he will think Diary of a Wimpy Kid Rodrick Rules is funny.

Whatever you do, don’t ask Greg Heffley how he spent his summer vacation, because he definitely doesn’t want to talk about it.

As Greg enters the new school year, he’s eager to put the past three months behind him . . . and one event in particular. Unfortunately for Greg, his older brother, Rodrick, knows all about the incident Greg wants to keep under wraps. But secrets have a way of getting out . . . especially when a diary is involved.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules chronicles Greg’s attempts to navigate the hazards of middle school, impress the girls, steer clear of the school talent show, and most important, keep his secret safe.

This September, go back to school with Greg Heffley, the kid who made “wimpy” cool!
