5 A-List Celebrities That Are Poker-Playing Champions

The Mommies Reviews

For some A-List celebrities, being on camera is a second job, their true passion is poker. These five players have all found success at the tables, and on screen.

Jennifer Tilly

This Hollywood actress may not be a household name to many movie fans, but poker players know the name well. In 2005 she won the World Series of Poker Ladies Texas Hold’em title and has the bracelet to prove it. She is well known in Vegas as a very competent poker player with a few million-dollar cashes to her name.

Tilly got bitten by the poker bug early when she was given a video game to play. Lately, she has been enjoying online games like poker, which you can play at Jackpot Casino. There you can play all the classic casino games as well as the latest slots and even stream live roulette tables.

Jason Alexander

Best known as George Costanza in the show Seinfeld, Mr Alexander is also an accomplished poker player. He won the eighth season of Celebrity Poker Showdown, picking up a half-million-dollar pot for his favourite charity. This has led to a few endorsements for online poker sites and merchandise. A regular at casinos across America, he is known to take detours to Vegas when flying between Hollywood and New York.

Ben Affleck

Perhaps one of Hollywood’s most famous poker players, Ben is well known in Vegas and in the smokey backroom games of L.A. He won the California State Poker Championships back in 2004 which added an official win to his accolades. He is allegedly more proud of this achievement than his Oscar.

He was also a participant in the legendary ‘Molly’s Game’ poker series. A young woman provided space, time, and money for illegal high-stakes poker games for Hollywood celebs and the rich and powerful of L.A. There is a lot of speculation as to which character in the book and movie is based on Affleck.

Shannon Elizabeth

The Hollywood starlet shot to fame in the American Pie movies series of the early-2000s. Before she hit the silver screen she was already making a name for herself on the poker tables. She considers poker her second career, and in recent years it has probably made her more money than her acting has. She is known for being a tough player to read, perhaps using her charm and acting skills to bewitch her fellow gamblers.

Tobey Maguire

Tobey hit the big leagues when he became Spiderman in the first run of those movies. Even then, he was a formidable poker player and always looking for a game on set. He is also a character featured in Molly’s Game, like Affleck. Don’t let his boyish good looks and humble demeanour fool you though. Behind the

cards is a shark with a nose for blood in the water.

These A-listers all have the time and money to enjoy a hand of poker whenever they please. Next time you are sitting at a poker table take a good look around, you may be playing with Hollywood royalty.
