  1. Combing the hair while wet – Wet combing is a natural lice remedy that needs to be repeated every three to four days for a minimum of two weeks using a fine tooth comb. So how do you wet comb?  Wet the hair thoroughly and add some conditioner, choose a natural anti-lice conditioner. You will need to use a fine tooth nit comb the entire lice infested scalp to the hair ends. Go through the head at least two times.  Ensure that you manage the lice within two months at maximum.
  2. Sanitize brushes and combs – You need to address the tools that you are using on a lice-infested hair with care especially before and after wet combing.  Take all the brushes and combs and wash them using scorching degrees with soap and water. Soak all the brushes and combs in alcohol for at least one hour.  Remember to include all the hair styling tools in the household like hair ties, hair barrettes, headbands, etc.
  3. Get out the vacuum – You cannot focus only on the infected person and overlook their physical surroundings.  Give all the floors and furniture in your home a good through vacuuming. This vacuuming can remove a lice-infested person’s hair that could still carry lice eggs that are ready to hatch.  You can also cover your furniture after vacuuming using a plastic painter’s drop cloth to eliminate more infestation. You can cover your furniture for about three weeks to prevent any sign of recurrence of lice in your home for another extended period.
  4. Wash every at-risk item – When any of your family members has lice, it is wise not just treat the lice on the person but also wash everything clean and disinfect it.  This helps in eliminating any danger of lice outbreak in your home or even the transfer of lice to someone else as well as re-infestation of the same person. Some of the items you need to wash are beddings, blankets, clothing, stuffed pillows, stuffed animals, etc.  Use hot soapy water or machine wash them and then iron them to ensure the lice infestation ground destroyed
