From the time you find out that you’re pregnant, you know your little one won’t be a baby forever. All your family and friends that have already had kids sit around giving you advice, and tell you how fast they’ll grow up, right before your eyes. I would like to share 3 Areas Where You Will Notice a Major Increase in Growth in Your Kids
You truly do appreciate the advice and tips they’re giving you, but they’re not even giving you a chance to grow into your maternity clothes comfortably before making you want to cry over your baby growing up! But whether you like it or not, the advice they’re giving you is true.
The harsh reality is that kids grow up so fast, and it’s completely out of your control, so you have to just grow with them and make proper adjustments. It’s almost like the saying “if you can’t beat them, join them.” Just because your kids are going to grow up on you, it doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to deal, it just means that changes will have to be made. Not all of them will be pleasant, and not all of them may be something you particularly want to do, but to get the most out your children’s adolescent years, it’s something you have to do.
Some key areas that you will be able to notice a huge growth difference in include their appetite, their clothes, and their maturity. Let’s dig deeper into how these areas increase as your kids grow older.
Appetite
As your child grows from a baby into a big kid, an increase in your child’s appetite will come as a no brainer. This noticeable difference is more apparent in boys than girls, but it impacts both genders. The age when you really notice the increase is the pre-teen to teenage years.
It’s during this time that kids will seemingly eat you out of house and home. You will begin to notice that you’re making trips to the grocery store more often, and having to cook bigger meals. It’s not necessarily a problem, but it might force you to budget differently to accommodate the nutritional needs that your children now have. You might have to cut back on trips to McDonald, and put that McDonald money towards groceries.
Clothes
Kids seem to grow out of their clothes everyday. When they’re first born, you get to dress them in the cute baby onesies. Then, once they get older and walking, you have to buy completely different sizes and types of clothing. This change probably won’t bother you too much, because they’re not completely independent, plus, they still need your help picking out cute clothes for their age.
Once they hit their teenage years, you will once again have to buy them new sets of clothes because they’re growing like weeds! They’ve eaten all this food, they’re filling out their clothes more, and the clothes they wore in the past simply won’t do now.
Even their sense of style has changed. Your daughter might have loved flowers and the color pink, but now her favorite color is purple, and she doesn’t care to wear dresses anymore. For boys, your son might have really been into race cars as a child, but now, he’s into everything basketball. He now requires everything that Stephen Curry, and the Golden State Warriors, represent… all the way down to his socks!
Maturity
Your children’s growth in maturity will be a sad moment for you, but a happy one as well. For kids who once were big into playing tricks on you, and arguing with you, it will be somewhat refreshing to see how much they’ve grown as a person. To know that you played a major role in that level of maturity makes all the headaches and budget revisions all worthwhile.
